Kossodo diesel plant 50 MW in Burkina Faso. The headquarters consists of 4 diesel generators of 18MW each and satisfies approx 20% of the country's consumption. In this project, TriEl was the main designer for the electrical part of the plant, incl. design of KRU 15 kV for connecting the generators, step-up transformers 90/15 kV substations, 75 MVA, extension of ORU 90 kV substations, lightning protection and grounding installations for the entire site, lighting and LV power installations of all plant buildings. The basic equipment, incl. KRU, ORU 90 kV and relay protections is a supply of ABB. TriEl also engineered ABB's REx650 and REF615 series relay protections, as well as commissioning works on the site.
