Modern numerical relay protections and other Inteligent Electronic Devices (IED) require adaption of their factory default logic to the particular project, and creation of specific logic solutions.

Extensive use of such devices and communication between them via IEC 61850 standard protocol allows significant reduce of physical wiring of panels and cables replacing them with logical solutions inside and between IEDs.

With “Secondary connections” design TriEl engineers prepare software configurations of all used relay protections and other IEDs. Corresponding software tools by equipment manufacturers are used - PCM600 by ABB/Hitachy Energy, Digsi 4/Digsi 5 by Siemens, MiCOM Studio and Enervista by GE, EasergyStudio by Schneider Electric, SEL Compass by SEL etc.

All modern substations in the electric power industry are controlled by SCADA systems. TriEl engineers have successfully integrated digital relay protections and other intelligent devices into SCADA systems of different manufacturers - ABB, Siemens and EFACEC.

As a partner of Sprecher Automation - Austria, TriEl has engineered and installed such systems at the "Mondi" TPP, "Kazanluk" 110/20kV substation and intelligent signaling systems in 400/110 kV substations "Tsarevets", "Burgas", "Metallurgichna" and "Zlatitsa".
